Design Consultant and Web Developer
Carhartt WIP commissioned the production of their new e-commerce site in tandem with a Manchester multibrand store (Thomas St Post Office). These were some of the companies first steps into online retail and were to serve as a test case for a global roll out.
Working in collaboration with Carhartt's in-house design team Dan was responsible for initial project scoping and wire-framing, assembling the development team and sourcing and set up of hosting and payment gateway. Once the project moved into production Dan managed the requirements and expectations of client departments in Manchester London and Switzerland while keeping the project on schedule for a tight launch date.
The sites were built on a custom CMS using CodeIgnitor, PHP 5, MySQL. As well as management I was responsible for all client side coding and staff training and support during and after launch.
The launch was a complete success, generating far more than the required revenue over the first 6 months and Carhartt is now in the process of rolling out a global e-commerce offering.
